During the World Health Assembly, the World Health Summit will bring together leaders and experts from government, multilateral institutions, civil society, academia, and the private sector for a timely exchange on how innovation can strengthen health systems and resilience.
Under the World Health Summit 2026 leitmotif, “From Crisis to Resilience: Innovating for Health,” the side event will explore how innovation can contribute to more equitable, adaptive, and future-ready health systems. The World Health Assembly provides a unique platform to discuss shared challenges, exchange experiences, and identify approaches to strengthening resilience in global health.
The event will be followed by a reception.
The side event takes place at a time of unprecedented strain. Conflicts, geopolitical tensions, economic volatility, climate change, and social inequities are converging to challenge health systems, widen gaps in care, and expose vulnerabilities that cannot be solved through reactive, short-term responses.
Addressing the health challenges of our time requires more than emergency measures; it requires innovation. But innovation is only valuable if it is implemented effectively, reaches every community, and strengthens systems in a sustainable way. Breakthroughs in artificial intelligence, new medicines, and bioscience are transforming health globally, yet true innovation goes far beyond technology. It encompasses financing, governance, leadership, regulation, partnerships, service delivery, supply chains, and workforce capacity.
Join the discussion to explore how these approaches can help strengthen health systems and build resilience.
